Your score is a percentile against the page-1 books for your keywords, weighted toward the top of the page.
Where do the competitors come from?
From live Amazon search for your target keywords, with each book's organic rank captured. If you use the Keyword Tracker, ranks stay fresh automatically. You can also manually add competitors by ASIN.
Will optimizing my listing make me rank #1?
Be skeptical of any tool that promises that. Copy is a real ranking factor, but Amazon also weighs sales history and reviews heavily. What optimized copy reliably does: gets you indexed for more searches, converts more of the impressions you already get (which feeds back into rank), and avoids mistakes that suppress listings. Expect the clearest movement on niche and long-tail keywords over weeks, not overnight jumps on the most competitive terms.
Will this edit my live Amazon listing?
No. The optimizer works on a local copy of your listing. You edit and preview changes in Scrivy, then manually apply them in your KDP dashboard when you're ready.
